It came as a surprise on Wednesday when ESPNs Jeremy Fowler reported later in the evening

that Cameron Hayward was sitting out of voluntary workouts as he seeks a new

contract extension with the Steelers. Looking back the sons were probably there

with Hayward feuding groomers that he would take a pay cut Looking back, the sons were probably there with Hey

were diffuting groomers that he would take a pay cut,

basically saying, don't talk about my money.

It makes sense now that maybe, you know, he wanted a little bit more.

But look, Hayward not reporting

a voluntary workouts really isn't a big deal. While the concept of

extending him is one that not a lot of people shouldn't be on board with, I

think we need to collectively relax when it comes to the Hayward discourse.

I mean obviously is the running Walter Payton

of the Year Award winner.

He's a great guys done a ton for the community in Pittsburgh.

That's awesome.

But let's just focus on the on-field stuff here because that's where a lot of

the dissension seems to be coming in. At 35 and coming off a core muscle injury

it's fair for people to hesitate when it comes to paying them. But giving the two-year

extension that covers

2025 and 2026 with maybe a bump in new money in 2024 really isn't that big of a
