I'm Alex Kazora.

I've written and we've talked plenty about the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2024 schedule and it is a doozy. We already knew to be tough no matter the

order the opponents known since the 2023 season wrapped on up. But the structure of things

only compounds that problem.

All six AFC North games in the final eight weeks at Philadelphia and hosting Kansas City on Christmas as the outliers over that span, yeah, it looks brutal.

But for a dash of optimism, it's just a schedule, and the NFL, it changes so much.

Last year, the end of the Steelers season looked daunting too, playing Cincinnati at home

and then going to Seattle and Baltimore to finish out the year. Pittsburgh won the mall. The

Bengals didn't have Joe Burrow, the Ravens rest of Jackson, and other key starters.

And what looked incredibly tough was not as scary as it first seemed.

Pittsburgh, of course, had a completely different looking roster, too, starting with Mason Rudolph being the one to lead a three game winning streak.

Point is no one knows by week one you will not be worried about week 16.

Yes, the chiefs are probably still going to be good. The

North will be a handful, but injuries in the unpredictable nature of each year makes any

analysis sort of fruitless. Pittsburgh's had easy air quotes here and hard schedules before and it basically

always ended up in the same place under Mike Tomlin in the playoff race until the very end. That's not the

goal being included in the in the hunt graphic, that's not the expectation, but that's still their likely spot come to home stretch of the 2024 season.
