I can't make heads or tails of this Russell Wilson news with him being interested in the Steelers and meeting with

them on Friday. It goes against everything the Steelers have said this off season about, you know, wanting to provide competition unless they really do view

Wilson as competition.

And I mean, that's fine and it's the smoke screens.

It could just be a smoke screen with everything they've said, but it just doesn't make a

ton of sense to me. For one, Wilson, Wilson needs you to play his own brand of football.

He'll check it down, take a few shots, and last year's numbers looked fine, over 3,000 yards, 23 touch-ons,

and interceptions.

With the hiring of Arthur Smith, who liked using the middle of the field a lot,

as during his time as an offense coordinator in Tennessee and head coach in Atlanta,

Wilson doesn't really throw intermediate routes all that often.

And I say this is someone who lost a lot of money with Portland Sutton on my fantasy team last season.

Outsers don't see Wilson coming in and wanting to compete for a job and, you know, have there be a chance that he's a backup.

I just don't think he's gonna sign early and have to compete when there are teams out there

like the Las Vegas Raiders example where Wilson could come in and be a day one starter. I just don't see a deal

ultimately materializing for that factor. Federalist dealers have interests

alone to something I'm surprised about but it doesn't hurt to cover every base they can and maybe Wilson is open about coming in and being a backup.

I mean the sailors seemingly have a lot of faith in Kenny Pickett, so they've said, whether that's the right move or not is a whole

another story because personally I'm not a huge picket fan but they seem to want to

roll with him for another season so this Wilson interests is kind of out of left field.
