One of the players whose name has been thrown around for a possible cap casualty this off season is Larry Oga Jobe.

He carries his sixth biggest cap hit on the team with a little over

13.2 million dollars this season, which is just a hair under Alex Highsmith's number.

That is a tough number to swallow given his level of production since he joined the Steelers.

In 2022 he had one and a half sacks and seven tackles for loss,

though to be fair he was dealing with injury issues for much of the season.

In 2023 he had three sacks and three tackles for loss.

This is after a year with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021, where he had seven sacks and 12

tackles for loss.

Especially with Cameron Hayward's injury that held him out of several games at the beginning of the

season, that is not the type of production

the Steelers were hoping for. Per charting on Steelers Depot, he only barely beat out

Armon Watts in total pressures, despite playing over three times the amount of snaps as him in 2023.

Under any other circumstances he likely would be cut but the Steelers situation

along the defensive line as it stands prior to free agency in the draft

does not allow that type of flexibility.

They will have the same problem next off season with Oganjobe under contract through 2025 and

Hayward getting a year older.

For those reasons, the Steelers should consider addressing position in both free agency and the draft.

Watts is a free agent so that would be a good place to start and they shouldn't be afraid to have Watts eat more into Oganjobe's snaps than he did last season.

And keep in mind that the draft is not very strong at defensive line this year.
