Stop me if you've heard this one before. The Pittsburgh Steelers were really good in close games.

Yet again, Mike Tomlin's Bunch gets it done.

Life finds away, and so do the Steelers.

In 2023, they went 9 and 2 in 1 possession games outcomes of 8 points or less.

That was the NFL's best mark, the most wins and top winning percentage.

It continues a trend under Tomlin, the Steelers easily having the best record

of one-score games since he was hired in 2007. They're well above 60%. Most other teams are

happy to crack 50%. Of course it means the Steelers

rarely win big which you know in part due to an offense struggling to

score for the better portion of five years.

When you average 17 points per game,

you're not easily putting the opposition away.

But there is something remarkable about finding a way

to close a game out or come back and snatch a win from the opponent. This is not a fluke. This is not random. You can't

count on regression to the meme. It keeps happening. Essentially every year, even post-Rothisberger, the numbers are about the same.

At this point, you have to assume it will continue, and it will always make the Steelers

a tough out.
