Senior bull director Jim Naggi certainly raised some eyebrows in recent days,

stating that the changing landscape in college football has hurt the NFL draft in

2024, leaving rounds five through seven thin on depth and talent.

NAGI out of the teams should really consider trading out

and acquiring picks for the 2025 NFL draft.

It was a surprise comment from NAGI,

and for my money was a bit of an out-of-touch comment too.

Sure, NAGI knows a heck of a lot more football than I do.

I'd be the first to admit that.

Andy has a great grasp on the draft class overall. But based on what I saw

in Dallas this past week at the East West Shrine Bowl and looking at the roster at the Senior

Bull and Mobile, I have to say, the draft class overall looks pretty darn solid.

Sure, an extra COVID year, NIL, new transfer roles and more have made it easier for players to

decide to stay in school rather than jump to the NFL for a chance to be

picked late. But that's where scouting staffs in the NFL earn their money, finding those hidden gems that are out there in the draft.

In the week that I was in Dallas with Melanie Freelander, Joe Clark, and Tony Calderon,

we saw quite a few prospects that look like late-round gems.

Names that include Penn State offensive tackle Caden Wallace,

Tylane Safety, Jerryus Monroe, Northern Iowa defensive linemen Christian Boyd,

Alabama State cornerback Mikey Victor, and yes, even Pitt Cornerback M.J. Devonshire.
