I'm Josh Carney. After benching veteran Mitch Trebiski Saturday in the fourth quarter against the Indianapolis

Colts on the road, bringing in

Mason Rudolph in relief. The Steelers are now turning to Rudolph full-time as

he's going to be the third starting quarterback on the year for the Steelers.

It's turning into a lost season if it isn't already.

That said, it's rather fitting that Rudolph is going to guide the Steelers just two days before Christmas.

Following Kenny Pickett's injury and then a poor performance against the Patriots for Trebiski,

it was always time for the Steelers to give Rudolph a shot as the starting

quarterback. That it took three and a half more quarters of poor play and two more interceptions

was rather frustrating but now assuming Pickett doesn't make

a miraculous recovery in return for Saturday's matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals,

it's Rudolph's time to shine for better or worse.

After everything he's had to endure in Pittsburgh too,

from the treatment from Ben Rothersberger following his selection

in the 2018 NFL draft to a tough 2019 season in his first real NFL experience

which included the Miles Garrett situation and then never being given a fair shot at the starting job in 2022,

Rudolph now has a real opportunity in front of him.

Not just in Pittsburgh moving forward, but in the NFL as well.

Based on how he's looked overall in his 10 starts in Pittsburgh,

Rudolph should be just fine.

He'll be better than Trebiski.
