Rewind to just before the Pittsburgh Steelers most recent game against the Arizona Cardinals the Steelers were seven and four and had very winnable games against the Cardinals, Patriots,

Colts and Bengals coming up. With the rest of the AFC playoff field the way it is,

Pittsburgh had the upper hand and the inside track towards the playoffs.

Whether that was sneaking in to win the AFC North over the Ravens who have a very tough

schedule remaining or securing a wild card spot. There would need to be an epic collapse for the Steelers

and not to make it. Well, that epic collapse may have just begun. The steel has lost

the two and ten Cardinals at home they not only lost but were beat badly and

they suffered multiple key injuries in the process. Quarterback Kenny Pickett hurt his ankle which will require a procedure to get him back to action this season.

It is being reported that he will not go to IR and could return against the Ravens in week 18.

If that's the case, this season could be as good as over.

The Steelers recipe for winning games has included protecting the football on offense.

In the eight games, Mitch Trubiski has appeared in for the Steelers dating back to

2022. He has thrown seven

interceptions. The Steelers have been playing football in a way where turning the

ball over even once has essentially doomed them. The defense also now has key

injuries to key players.

Minkof Fitzpatrick and T.J. Watt were dinged up.

They will likely play through those injuries, but perhaps less effective than they could have been.

Then the injury to inside-backed or Landon Roberts, it was eerily similar to

Cam Hayward's injury in week one where he injured his groin, tried to play through

it, and immediately realized he couldn't. If Roberts is out for any period of time

...
