| 0:14.0 | and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared. |

| 0:23.9 | application to us. These are truly the greatest stories ever told, and the Lord has something |

| 0:50.3 | Not far from where I'm sitting right now, there is a massive rock quarry. |
| 1:00.1 | And every so often you can hear the vibration, a massive explosion, as they blast more of the rock out of that quarry. |
| 1:08.4 | Rock is something, of course, so solid, so stable, so coveted today. People want to build on it. |
| 1:13.2 | And you don't want to build on sand to harken back to another one of our Lord's parables. |
| 1:16.9 | You want something strong, something substantive. |
| 1:25.5 | And that is why all through Scripture, our Lord is represented as being the rock or being the stone. |
| 1:28.9 | In fact, if you go all the way back to ancient Israel, remember, |
| 1:34.0 | it was a smitten rock in the desert that provided the water they needed. |
| 1:41.3 | And Paul would later give us a little interpretation of that in his writing to Corinth by saying that rock was Christ. |
| 1:43.4 | So we understand the symbolism of the stone in the |
| 1:47.4 | Word of God. Today we return to Matthew chapter 21, really to the footnote of one of our Lord's |
| 1:53.9 | parables, the last parable that we studied together, the parable of the husbandman and the evil ones who rejected his son. |
| 2:03.0 | The Lord picks up there in Matthew chapter number 21 and verse 42, |
| 2:07.2 | and Jesus saith unto them, |
| 2:09.0 | did you never read in the scriptures? |
| 2:11.4 | And I must pause a moment and just point out that he really's poking him in the eye |
