I want you to turn to 1 Corinthians chapter number nine. First Corinthians chapter 9.

Let me just ask why you're finding your place. How many of you go to this church? Would you wave at me just a second? You go to this church? Well, that's great. Thank you for hosting this.

Thank you for working so hard to have all of us

and if you want to mark your place at this portion of the bible you'll be ahead of everybody that

isn't here today because i intend to come back to this same general area of scripture for the

next three days while i'm here in this church and i'm'm going to begin here with the young people in a

passage of scripture that though I have read it hundreds of times and referenced it many

times. I don't ever remember preaching just these verses. I've alluded to them in messages,

but I've been meditating on them the last few days, and not just for you, for me.

And I'm going to just kind of preach to myself and let you listen today. That'd be all right.

Look at 1st Corinthians chapter 9 and verse number 23. Paul said, and this I do. He's talking

about all the things in the previous verse he had done, and this I do for the

gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. Stop lift you head, look at me just a minute.

He said, there's something that binds us together. It's the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I live in the mountains of West Virginia. My wife grew up here in Michigan,

married to Michiganer, but I live in a very different area of the country. And, of course,

every week I'm traveling in a different part of the country. And here's what I've discovered.

It's really fascinating. I can get off a plane anywhere in the world with nothing but my Bible and not know

a single soul and in a matter of just a very few minutes feel very much at home because I'm with people who belong to the same Christ that I belong to.

We have Christ in common.
