Well, let's get right to it.

Why don't you grab your Bible?

We left off on Wednesday.

We only got a few verses, but it was an introduction to the gospel of Luke, and so we're just,

you know, wallie-gagging through Luke.

That's our plan.

It's a great gospel.

It's going to be great to go through this book.

If you turn to Luke chapter one,

last week we started our study on last Sunday,

the story of Zacharias and Elizabeth,

who the mom and dad of John the Baptist. Talk about a spirit-filled

family. You know, we're going to see that even today. The Holy Spirit was moving strongly

in the family of John the Baptist. But we saw last week, the Lord was gracious to Zacharias,

answered he and Elizabeth's prayer to have a son.

And they told him his name should be called John.

And so we saw how even in his unbelief, Zacharias would have his prayers answered and be very linked to the coming of the Messiah, which is a big

deal. So, Zacharias reminded us of his shortcomings, and he had to remind himself of his

shortcomings for nine months. The angel Gabriel said, man, what's the deal? You don't believe?

Because of your unbelief, Zacharias, you're not going to be able to speak for nine months until the baby comes.

Now, I'll show you Wednesday night when we, Lord willing, finished chapter one. I'll show you

how it might be possible that he not only could not speak, but maybe couldn't hear either.
