Did you notice a difference between the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Mark so far?

There was a pretty huge difference.

And we have been making somewhat of a compare and contrast of the Gospels as we look at a harmony of the Gospels as we're kind of going through the Gospels,

seeing how they sort of tell the story from different angles

and different perspectives. And for different purposes. Each gospel exists for sort of a different

purpose. And I wanted to kind of go over a little bit of an introduction this evening,

if you'd allow me, to the Gospel of Luke, because it is unique quite a bit from all the other gospels,

the other three particularly,

but I'll show you some of the similarities, differences,

and what have you tonight.

But in the introduction of Luke,

there's a few things I just want to kind of get right out of the gate.

One of the things you should know is Luke is not an eyewitness account of the gospel,

but rather sort of compiled information by someone who's really good at compiling information.

And we'll talk more about that in a second. But, you know, in Matthew, we had Matthew himself, the disciple, who was an eyewitness.

And you might even call Mark an eyewitness account because it was written by, well,

who, anybody?

It was written by John Mark by his hand, but Peter was the one who was coaching him.

So you might call Mark an eyewitness account. Most scholars do because it was from

Peter's perspective. Most agree. But Luke's gospel came from him investigating and compiling all the

evidence and writing it all down. And that's, we'll learn more why he's the guy for the job here in a

minute. But number two,
