This week and the weeks leading up to Halloween, I'll be releasing a new ghost story I wrote called The Shadows of Burton Hall.

I initially began writing it a couple of years ago, but then some big life stuff got in the way.

I was excited to finally get back to it this year.

And so, let's just get to it.

Here's this little ghost story I wrote.

The Shadows of Burton Hall, part one.

It existed in Shadows, a presence that was sensed more than seen.

It dwelled in gloom.

Spaces that, though familiar and safe in daylight, grew elongated and strange under the veil of darkness.

It was a year after her wife's death when Theresa first became aware of the thing in the shadows.

A year later, when life would take her to another continent, another home.

Grace had taken her last breath in their California tract home, a stucco home nearly indistinguishable from every other house along their street.

Theresa had known Grace was gone, even before she entered the room where her wife had been sleeping.
