Hey everyone, welcome back to the Brute Strength Podcast. My name is Michael Cashew, and my guest this week is Mike Robertson. He's the owner of Robertson training systems, as well as the Indianapolis fitness and sports training facility.

This one's a really special one to me because I can vividly remember being in at my first

strength and conditioning job at Southern Utah University.

I worked really long hours and I didn't have a whole lot of friends.

So in the little bit of time that I did have, I would just

sit in my apartment and read articles online. And Mike Robertson wrote a lot of those articles

that I became obsessed with in my early days as a strength and conditioning coach. And he,

along with guys like Eric Cressy and Pavel and Dan John, were my early

inspirations for being a strength and conditioning coach. So it was a huge honor to get to interview

this guy. I think he's one of the most technically sound coaches in the entire world.

But one of the things that I was most

interested in while interviewing him was diving into the more intangible parts of coaching.

So we talked about how to prevent distractions and so you can do actually productive work.

We talked about the importance of having the right personality and specifically

being able to connect with clients so that you can get buy-in and you can get them to actually
