This is such a fascinating story. You've kind of like uncovered a group that a lot of people,

even kind of quote unquote experts on research in the far right, you found a group that

even these kinds of people didn't find.

And it's bizarre.

It's a bizarre group.

I think maybe first of all, can you just explain how you found out about this group,

the basket weavers, and what are they actually about?

Yeah, great to be talking to you about this.

The basket weavers came to our attention at Hope Not Hate.

Around 2022, when they were being advertised by far-right influencers,

you had people like Edward Dutton, race science influencer,

Keith Woods, an Irish white nationalist.

And they were doing these really weird videos where they would hold up these actual wooden woven baskets and talk in these quite like cryptic terms about a new group that had formed that made up of,

you know, individual woven threads that together were, you know, individually were weak,

but together were strong. And, you know, these are some of the most vicious people on the

internet in the far right online space. And so if they were willing to endorse an

organization, some type of community group it seemed like, then we knew that it was going to be
