Tell with me today to Proverbs the fourth chapter, if you would.

We'll look at the fourth chapter and also the 14th chapter.

Proverbs chapter 4 and chapter 14.

And we've been studying, we began yesterday talking about the heart,

talking particularly about the receptive heart, the receiving heart, the heart that receives

from God.

Can you say amen?

The receptive heart.

And before we read some of these verses of scripture, how many know that your heart is the part of you that you believe God with?

Amen.

It's the part of you that you believe God with.

And these scriptures here in Proverbs 4 and Proverbs 14 bring out some particularly important truths along this line.

Let's read them again. Proverbs 4 verse 20 and through 22, most people in charismatic circles at least are familiar with.

It says, My son, attend to my words, incline thine ear into my sayings.

Let them not depart from thine eyes.

Keep them in the midst of thine heart,

for they are life unto those that find them, and health or medicine to all their flesh.

But it really keeps going.

It says, keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.

Did you hear that phrase?

Keep your heart. Other translations phrase? Keep your heart.

Other translations said, guard your heart.
