Hi everyone. Welcome to episode 73 of the Let's Talk Yoga podcast. At the start of this year,

I canceled all subscriptions to any yoga platform. And I did this not because, you know, it was a very

calculated thought out move, but I was just spending some time reflecting on how a lot of I did this not because, you know, it was a very calculated, thought-out move.

But I was just spending some time reflecting on how a lot of these yoga brands that have made promises to do more and to change in the past couple of years and to especially if I look at it in terms of like being diverse and inclusive.

We all saw statements made from these companies in 2020,

right? And when I really like look closely and it doesn't take too much effort to do that,

there's not much that has changed in the yoga world. A lot of these companies, they're operating

the same way, except a little bit of token social media stuff. So I withdrew my support, not just support.

Like I would do, I canceled all my subscriptions.

And I also decided not to really write for any particular outlet as such.

Because I just noticed it's always about appropriation and a picture of me in a sari and then run ads for it.

And then nothing else.

Right.

But I wanted to have this conversation in a veryari and then run ads for it and then nothing else, right? But I wanted to have this

conversation in a very objective way. So in some attempt to bring clarity about what really goes

on in the yoga industry to really help us yoga teachers navigate this more. So I invited Alexandria

Crow who has been on this podcast before,

and she has been in the yoga world for such a long time and has actively stepped out of it

and works only, you know, with herself right now. And Alex and I, we've been talking offline
