Summary

Now that I'm in my mid to late 20s, I have been stressing a little bit about my "timeline." What my next moves are—if I'm going to have kids, if I'm going to get married, if I'm going to buy a house—the list goes on. The best way that I cope with these stressors is by talking through them with all of you. Today I'm throwing it back to a TNTC community favorite! Last year, I did an episode about navigating your 20s, and so many of you told me that you found it helpful. In today's episode, I talk about what it's really like to be in your 20s and how to navigate the not-so-perfect parts of it.

you enjoyed, which was navigating your 20s. I did it sometime last year. I want to talk about

0:29.1

the reality of being in your 20s. For any of you that don't know, I'm 26 and now that I'm in

0:35.7

the middle to end of my 20s, a lot is changing around me,

0:41.2

which can be a little stressful and confusing and just a lot.

0:45.5

I have some friends who are really far in their careers already who know exactly what they're

0:50.6

doing for the rest of their lives.

0:52.7

I have friends who are getting engaged.

0:55.4

I have friends who are ready to have children.

0:58.4

There's people I went to high school with who have children, who are married,

1:02.2

who have moved so far away.

1:05.3

It's really easy to compare yourself and your life to others and feel like you're behind

1:10.3

or you're not doing enough.

1:12.4

What I do for work is very unconventional. I'm very lucky. I'm so grateful. But it is a risk

1:20.8

and there isn't a super clear path forward with social media. So I find myself doubting myself sometimes and getting in my

1:29.9

head because I'm comparing where I'm at to where others are. And then of course, I have other people

1:36.5

in my ear asking me what my plans are, what I think I'll be doing in the next few years. Will I

1:42.9

continue doing social media? Will I get a real job? And not even just

1:48.0

career wise, but I have people asking if I'm thinking about buying a house and getting married

1:53.8

and having kids. With all of these questions being thrown at me, I'm kind of realizing that I

1:59.5

don't think I am ready for those next steps
