We had an early Labor Day this year with Labor Day and September 2nd.

A fascinating sort of non-existent split screen of a Labor Day.

It was a headscratcher to me that you saw

the Democratic ticket in multiple states

and including the outgoing president

doing a rare joint appearance

with Vice President Harris.

For whatever reason, Trump did not have sort of a more traditional label day.

And look, Labor Day, the whole idea of the labor movement, it is obviously a more natural Democratic constituency.

There's sort of, you know, the Labor Day picnics for politicians go quite a bit, but we are here.

And among the more interesting aspects of this election cycle is going to be trying

to figure out the role of younger voters, particularly Gen Z.

Vice President Harris has made outreach to young voters pretty central to

her campaign and there's no doubt early polling has shown these voters are

suddenly energized and interested in the Democratic ticket in ways that they were not when President

Biden was leading this ticket when the summer began.

But the war with Gaza remains as a possible breaking point for some younger voters.

How much do we really know about whether these younger voters are going to turn out in the

fall?
