Whenever people ask me to do episodes about Game of Thrones characters, they usually ask

me to talk about and analyze the psychopaths, the Joffrey Baratheans, the Ramsey Boltons,

I've also done episodes on Santa Cligain the Hound and Theon Greyjoy and also just general

And I thought that I would today do an episode on one of the non-psychopaths, one of the

good guys, Tyrion Lannister.

I at first thought, well, you know, what could I really say about Tyrion?

People ask me to do episodes on all the characters, including Yuran Greyjoy and all these

kind of people.

And I'm always thinking, well, you know, what could I talk, I mean, if I did an episode

on the mountain, what could I say about him other than that he's just a terrible person?

If I'm going to do a full episode about a character on any show or any movie, I feel

like I need some data to be able to comment on.

And at first, I thought I didn't have enough data to go off with Tyrion, but actually

There's a lot that can be said about Tyrion's development and how his personality came

to be and some of the traumas that he's been through that influences life.

That is consistent, I think.

And that's one of the wonderful things about George Martin's writing is that his characters

are rich and consistent and make sense psychologically.
