Hey, just having listeners. It's just me today. So I recently made some reaction videos for YouTube,

0:05.0

and at the end of recording them, I thought, actually, this would make a good audio podcast

0:10.3

episode because I go into so many clinical issues. So that's what I'm going to do today. I broke

0:16.4

up the reaction videos into two different parts. And so this is part one, and later on we'll publish

0:21.9

part two. The interview that I'm reacting to is an interview between Dr. Drew and Trisha Paytest

0:28.8

on Dr. Drew's show. So you'll hear them talking, and then I'll be reacting to it. Let's get to it.

0:34.4

Let's talk about these these these outbursts. So so when I deal with people that have these kinds

0:38.9

of operatives, I personally look at them as like seizures almost like it's something your brain does

0:44.5

and you have no control over it. Yet at the same time, you want to be accountable. How do you

0:50.3

balance those two sort of true two realities, which okay. So that's interesting. Dr. Drew is saying

0:57.2

that according to his perspective, I don't agree with it, but you know, other clinicians can have

1:02.7

their own perspective, that when some people have emotional reactivity, that it is more akin to

1:09.4

a seizure in that you don't have any control over it. On the other hand, he's saying that we need to

1:14.8

be accountable to our behavior. And so Dr. Drew is presenting that to Trisha. Now by very limited

1:21.9

understanding of Trisha's behavior and the way Trisha talks about their issues is that

1:28.7

partially it is out of Trisha's control, but very much some of it is under Trisha's control.

1:35.5

So let's see what Trisha says here. She's you don't have control once they're triggered. You don't.

1:41.2

That's a reality. Maybe the medication will help you now in that kind of thing. I think of it like

1:45.6

a seizure. Yet when patients have this stuff, I do have to kind of go, hey, hey, come on. How'd

1:50.4

you get to that point? What are you going to do about it? That kind of thing. Right. Absolutely. So even

1:54.9

if we do have conditions that will cause us to have behavior that is mostly out of our control

2:03.1

or puts us into a mindset where we want to do things that we will regret almost immediately,
