Betsy is an independent data journalist and writer with an extensive history of reporting

on pandemic data.

She is the co-founder and managing editor of the Sick Times, which is focused on the long

COVID crisis.

Before Sick Times, Betsy ran the weekly COVID-19 data dispatch newsletter, which ran from

July 2020 through November, 2023, and

provided resources and analysis and original reporting on COVID-19 data.

I asked Betsy on today to talk about her recent reporting for sick times on wastewater surveillance

data in the United States, which she has been closely covering for years now.
