That's what I've learned over the years. I've coached thousands of entrepreneurs at this point, invested in hundreds. And I just see sometimes they build the business in a way that it's so complicated and the team part of it is just so frustrating that it's not the market. It's not the customers. It's not like the economy. It's not the interest rate, dude. It's literally, I don't want to do this anymore. Yeah. So what i shared at that event was kind of the philosophy of the replacement ladder which i talk about it i think it's chapter five in my book just like but i really unpacked it like i wanted to like simplify it because his audience you know are people that are thinking about getting into business yeah they're just getting started yeah and i was like, you know, here's the way we want to look at, you know, value in time. Because what I learned is small business entrepreneurs are small businesses because they don't value their time. Right. And they usually try to spend time to save money. Mm. The problem is you're supposed to spend money to save time. Right. So like even that frame is broken.

So I just went really deep on that concept, the replacement ladder and who to hire and what sequence. If you do it right, the cool part is in four hires, you actually have a business you can be free from. Yeah. That people are like, no, you can't. Here, I'll show it to you. And then the other thing I shared that I know people really loved was the,

1:11.1

the one three one rule, which is how to push decisions down to people that have the most

1:16.4

information about the decision, but do it in a way where you feel like you're at least in

1:21.3

the loop and that they evaluated or considered all the options. Because you ever have

1:26.7

somebody say, hey, man, I made this decision?

1:28.4

And it's not the decisions, like, you're like, okay, I get that, but why? See, as an entrepreneur, I want to know what thought you put into that. I actually don't care what the decision is. I want to know that you at least, like, slow down because it's, you know, if you're going to spend spend 50 grand like tell me how did you come to that

1:45.1

specific decision so that's where the one three one rule comes in and um and that's i think why the

1:50.6

video did so well yeah no i loved it you know i think um like you said a lot of people just have

1:57.0

the broken mindset of hey i'm gonna you know, spend time to save money,

2:01.5

right? And then at some point, your time starts to actually become valuable. And so you have to

2:06.2

break that mindset and start spending money to save time. When does it actually happen, though?

2:11.7

Because we all have to trade time for money to start. It never, so here's the cool part is if, you know, my philosophy is that

2:19.6

you have to act like your hours worth more today than it actually is so that it forces you to

2:25.0

clean up your calendar. For example, while ago, I was sitting down and I was going through kind of like

2:31.4

the vision and what I want to create my life, what I call an empire.

2:34.5

That word scares people because they're like, you know, some people just want to make 100 grand a year. So empire is like, dude, I don't want to work that hard because they think it's a lot of work. I actually changed my copy because I said, hey, we'll teach you how to build your real estate empire. and yeah people are like no dude like i don't want that dude i just want to like get a couple of

2:35.5

rentals yep just keep, like, I don't want that, dude.

2:51.3

I just want to, like, get a couple of rentals. Yep. Just keep, don't, don't scare me with that word. My definition is a life of unlimited creation that you never have to retire from. That's the empire. So, you know, that's just me. If you want to wake up and be able to create, because I don't know people that are successful that want to retire. That's a weird word. We were talking about that earlier.

2:49.1

Yeah. So the whole philosophy around that is I was reviewing what I want to create, and then this is the math. It's kind of fun. You're going to love this because it applies to everybody. It doesn't matter if you're a nine-figure earner or just starting off. You look at in the future what you want to create and you just ask yourself a simple question, what does that person day look like? Okay, that's what that person's day look like? What does my day look like? Well, there's a gap because this guy over here wakes up and he's got an incredible team that come to him with reports and it's structured and it's organized and he gets to be creative and hang out with his family and it feels really good.

3:46.0

Yeah.

3:46.5

This person down here is still putting shelves together and painting stuff and da-da-da-da, which is fine. that's where the value of your time comes in because if you don't value yourself like and that's
