I am delighted as your host, I'm Mary Meckley, to share with you day two of this week's series.

And this week, you are on a quiet revolution quest where you are mastering

what you can control so you're beginning to let go of and not focus so much on what you can't control or what's wrong and you're

beginning to notice what you can control. You're beginning to embody your inner power.

So today we confront the subtle but powerful force that shapes your reality.

And that is your self-talk. The narratives you tell yourself about who you are, what you can do, and what you deserve.

These aren't fleeting thoughts that come to mind as you're talking or thinking,

they're deeply ingrained neural pathways

that you created yourself.

Research in cognitive psychology shows that positive affirmations can activate your brain's reward centers,

much like receiving an actual tangible reward. Your brain lights up in the reward center in a similar way. And you might think that

this has to do with creating a false narrative or ignoring reality. But really, what's happening

is you are consciously choosing a narrative that empowers you.

You begin to replace limiting beliefs with truths that serve your well-being.

Have you ever thought about, for example, I think of my own grandfather's generation,

where he so rarely complained and he underwent some hardships and he lived through the Great Depression and a lot of extenuating circumstances.

His whole family was split up during that time as they were trying to find food and live.

And yet he reflects on that time as having really built his strength.

He looks at it in a positive light, not as something he wishes would never have happened

or that he's experiencing a lot of trauma from he sincerely and

truly embodied this as he lived his life he's no longer living but as he lived his life i remember
