0:17.5	Law Fair. Ben Wittis from the Brookings Institution joins me on today's podcast. First of
0:23.3	well, good morning, Ben. How are you? I am better than either Donald Trump or Hunter Biden.
0:30.6	Yeah. Okay. Well, I want to talk about both of those cases. So as we are speaking of the
0:34.4	grand jury is meeting in Washington, DC, could vote as early as today on an indictment. Apparently,
0:39.6	the Trump folks think that that is imminent. Of course, you received the the target letter
0:44.3	11 days ago. Also, we're getting reports that Trump's lawyers are meeting with the Department
0:50.4	of Justice with members of Jack Smith's team, which of course is their right. It's one of those
0:55.8	last minute gambits to try to talk the Department of Justice out of indictment. So those generally
1:01.7	do not succeed. Before we get into it, I didn't want to talk about what happened with the
1:05.6	Hunter Biden case tomorrow. Just sort of wrap up a lot of the things that we are hearing that we
1:11.8	may know or we may not know about what the special counsel is doing. I mean, clearly, Jack Smith
1:16.5	has continued to gather evidence and interview key witnesses in the 2020 election in January 6th
1:22.2	probe is taking shape. New York Times reporting prosecutors are following multiple strands as January
1:27.7	6th indictment decision looms. In recent weeks, Smith's team has pushed forward and collecting new
1:32.5	evidence and and ranging new interviews with witnesses. A good shed light in the past few days.
1:37.2	A lawyer for Bernie Kerrick, the former New York City Police Commissioner who were close to
1:41.9	after election with Trump's lawyer, Woody Giuliani gave hundreds of pages of documents to
1:46.5	prosecutors working with Jack Smith. NBC is reporting the special counsel is examining a 2020 meeting
1:53.2	where Trump was briefed on US election system in Tagriday in the meeting officials from multiple
2:00.8	agencies, including the FBI, the office of the director of national intelligence and the cyber security
