Hello, it's Eve here. Welcome to this brand new Monday.

I hope you had a restful and relaxing weekend.

So I was thinking over the weekend about how hard it is sometimes to say no.

You know, of course we use the word a lot and for good reason.

You know, no, don't eat that piece of mud or plastic to our children.

Or no, I don't like raisins, I actually don't.

But I'm talking more about the kind of no when it comes to things we are perhaps asked to do at work or in our personal lives.

The things that if we say yes, will mean it will really overload us.

And just the other day I was in that exact predicament.

A really good friend of mine asked me to join her and a husband for lunch on Sunday.

I was torn because I'm taking a course at the moment and it means for the next few weeks my weekends really need to be focused on that.

And as the day drew nearer, I was finding myself getting more and more anxious about it as I was actually a little behind on the studying I was supposed to do.

So I cancelled at the very last minute.

I knew if I went I wouldn't finish what I needed to do and I had to submit the work to the teacher on the Monday.
