Hello everybody and welcome to the Derek Hunter podcast.

I am your guest host, Dean Carriannis, back with you to finish up the year.

The year of 2025 is over.

This time tomorrow, we will be, depending how you count it, a quarter of the way through the 21st century.

That sounds pretty futuristic to me, and yet I still feel quite young at heart.

I even think the year 2000 sounds old now. Doesn't that sound like a long time ago?

Somehow we went from that sounding like it was the most future you could get

and we would be on Mars walking around, casually taking vacations on the moon to 2000, sounding like

it was a real long time ago. But that's how time goes. In fact, the kids these days, some of them take to referring to people like myself as being born in the late 1900s or in the 1900s. So that's a sobering thought as you get ready for this new year. I hope that you do have a great New Year's Eve. I hope that you can stay up late maybe this year. I know a lot of people

go to sleep early. I saw Martha Quinn, the old MTV Vijay, she tweeted out she'd like to stay awake,

but she has to go to bed early. And I tweeted to her and said, I don't want to live in a world

where Martha Quinn is old like me and has to go to bed early. I said she's forever young for anybody who grew up with MTV. And I included a little link to the Alphaville song by that name. But what can you do? At least you like my tweet. So I'm always cautious about saying things about people's age. So that was nice to reflect.

I see a lot of people always say, my gosh, so-and-so from the past, she aged so poorly or he's

unrecognizable.

And you ask these people, did you ever look in the mirror at yourself?

Yes, time gets us all.

Some of us age better than others.

Martha Quinn looks like she's aged completely fine. She's one of those people that defies time. You can't say the same for somebody like, well, I won't name any names. That would be uncharitable, but I'm sure you can imagine on your own and you say, wow, that person just either had a hard life. Sometimes people had hard lives or or just genetics you can only outrun your genetics for so long and sometimes you end up not looking apart but I'm all

for aging as your genes take you I wish everybody to have next year and say gosh don't

don't look at it as a tough year if you have a big milestone coming up.

Don't dread it.

We never know how many ticks of the clock we have in this world and just make the most of them.
