And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host,

praising God and saying,

glory to God the highest, and the earth, peace among those who he has pleased.

When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherd said to one another,

let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened which the

Lord has made known to us and they went with age and found Mary and Joseph and the baby

lying in the manger this is the word of the Lord.

I'm just probably never going to get tired of watching that.

Multitude, really going to throw multitude at a second grader,

but he crushed it.

Now, historically, week three of Advent, the theme is joy.

And I've tried to work real hard over the last two decades to tease out the difference between happiness and joy. Biblically speaking, they're not the same thing.

Like happiness is almost always tied to circumstances. If everything's going the way you want

them to go, then there's a tendency to be happy. But what you find in the scriptures is joy is a bit

different than that.

Joy is actually detached from life's circumstances and has its foundation in something other than our life's circumstances.

So that regardless of life circumstances, there's a confidence that can be found.
