Summary

This story takes us to Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba. In April of 2017 this community of about 3000 people would provide the setting for an event watched around the world. Specifically, watched by those seeking videos of gore, death, and humanity’s darkest moments. Then 19 year old Serena McKay's life would end as the result of a vicious, violent, and merciless attack committed by two young women, with some of the most brutal moments being live streamed to facebook... and from there shared across the internet. In this episode of Nighttime, I've invited Canadian crime content creator Madelayne Klein to help me try and understand what happened to Serena and possibly why.
