I'm your host, Dr. Adrian Chavez, and today we are going to be discussing lab tests for health and longevity.

And I'm discussing this topic because I've gotten several questions about it.

In an ideal world, you would be getting these recommendations directly from your primary

care provider, and there would be great recommendations, and they would explain them to you,

and they would sit down and go through these numbers with you, and all would be great recommendations and they would explain them to you and they would sit down

for most of us. If you live in the U.S., that's most likely not the experience that you have. And if you

So what I'm going to do in this episode is cover the main risk factors for health and longevity.

And when I say longevity, I mean for extending our length of life and reducing our risk of the major chronic diseases that can

reduce our length of life. So that mainly is cardiovascular disease, cancer, Alzheimer's,

type 2 diabetes. These are the things that significantly shorten our lifespan. So when we're

looking at quote unquote longevity,

we want to look at the factors that impact our risk of these different chronic health conditions

that can shorten our lifespan. I see a lot of quote unquote longevity experts online promoting

all sorts of things that don't actually relate to what longevity actually is.

Longevity is extending your lifespan.

Are you able to add years to your life and are you able to add quality to those years?
