It all started out with the disappearance of 12-year-old Manuel Shadwalte.

Manuel was born on January 24, 1981 in Berlin, Germany, to a loving family.

He enjoyed playing computer games and sports and frequented local department stores in Berlin or at the Fez,

the Woolhide Leisure and Recreation Center, where he played computer games.

On July 24, 1993, Manuel left

his parents' apartment in Berlin Tempelhof to go to the Fez by public transport, but he never

arrived.

On July 24, 1993, on Saturday, he set off for the Fezzi Leisure Center 10 kilometers

away in the Kubenik district. The boy probably took public

transportation, but we don't know for sure because he never arrived at the Ephez. The boy with the

slightly longer dark hair was never seen again, especially at the beginning. The police

intensively searched for him because he liked to play in department stores and at the

FZ on computers. They questioned salespeople and supervisors.

A description of the boy who was last wearing jeans, t-shirt, and a turquoise backpack with the label Miami Vice was published.

Newspapers and television showed a photo.

The police combed through the wooded area at the leisure center of Fizzet, unsuccessfully.

Tips that the police received did not lead to suspect, and that the boy just got lost

or had an accident and has not been found to this day.

Nobody actually believes that.

The police initially only conducted one missing person case.

Today they refer to the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office.

A spokesperson there said that an investigation is being conducted on the suspicion of homicide, but the proceedings have been ongoing for a long time.
