Hi moms, this is Heidi St. John, and today I'm finishing up a series, a short series on

the Mindful Mom. Yesterday we talked about being mindful of the harvest. In other words,

when we plant into the lives of our children, every day we are having an opportunity to

nurture them, to train them up in the way that they should go. So to be mindful, always

of what the end result is that we're looking for. What is it that God is asking us to do

when we train our children? Today I want to talk about being mindful of your responsibility.

Just look for just a minute at Ephesians 6 verses 1 through 4. It says children, do what

your parents tell you. This is only right. Honor your father and mother is the first

commandment that has a promise attached to it, namely, so that you will live well and have

a long life. Fathers, don't exasperate your children by coming down hard on them. Take

them by the hand and lead them in the way of the master. That is Ephesians 6 1 through 4

in the message. Now we have a responsibility, the Bible says, to train our children. First

we see that the child's responsibility is to obey his parents. The Bible says children,
