I have a couple of events coming up in support of the book, and I would love to see you at one of them.

Farmington on Tuesday, April 14th, from 5.30 p.m. until 7.30 p.m. Then I will be at the Westland

In the rural landscape of Metamora Township, Michigan, which is just north of the Oakland County line in Lapeer, the summer of 2014 was meant to be quiet and ordinary.

Thomas Road is a gravel stretch shaded by a thick canopy of trees.

It's the kind of place where neighbors wave as they pass, where shade softens the 80-degree

heat, and where someone can find the simple piece of a long run. But on July 23, 2014,

that quiet was shattered by a tragedy that people would later say should never have happened.

Thank you. would later say, should never have happened. At 46 years old, Craig Sistma had already overcome something many people never have to face.

Cancer.

But he didn't just survive the disease.

He embraced life afterward with a renewed sense of purpose.

Running became part of that transformation.
