| 0:00.0 | Hello, everyone, and welcome to Slash Film Weekly. It's Wednesday, May 27th, 2026. On today's episode of the show, we're going to be talking a little bit about the latest film and TV news, and then I'll be joined by some folks to talk about the Mandalorian and Grogu as well as the new horror film passenger and we'll present an interview with that film's director, Andre Overdall. My name is Ben Pearson. I'm an editor at Slashfilmcom. I'm just going to run through a couple news items here. |
| 0:22.7 | The directors of the Super Mario Brothers movie and the Super Mario Galaxy movie, |
| 0:28.5 | their names are Michael Jelanick and Aaron Horvath, |
| 0:32.6 | have signed a creative partnership deal with Netflix, |
| 0:36.5 | where they're going to be developing animated shows and |
| 0:39.3 | films exclusively for Netflix with first look rights for live action projects. |
| 0:43.6 | I don't think either of them have really worked meaningfully in live action before. |
| 0:48.3 | They previously were the creators and producers of the Teen Titans Go series, which I've |
| 0:53.4 | never seen, but I know has a lot of |
| 0:55.0 | vocal fans. So good for them. And I'm really curious to see what they do if they end up taking |
| 1:00.1 | the step into live action. Speaking of Netflix, David Fincher's newest film, which does not have |
| 1:05.7 | an official title yet. It was previously known as the Adventures of Cliff Booth, but apparently that's just a |
| 1:11.2 | working title. So this is the follow-up or spin-off or whatever you want to call it of |
| 1:16.7 | Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It was written by Quentin Tarantino, directed by David Fincher and |
| 1:21.2 | starring Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth. That is going to be coming to IMAX theaters on November 25th, 2026, and it'll hit Netflix on December 23rd, 26. |
| 1:32.0 | So this is basically going to be a two-week IMAX engagement before hitting Netflix. |
| 1:37.7 | And this is what the Greta Gerwig Narnia deal was originally supposed to be before that film got bumped to February of 2027. So I'm not |
| 1:46.6 | sure exactly how many IMAX theaters this movie is going to be played in, but we'll see what |
| 1:52.2 | happens there. I hope that there will be one that is near me because I would love to see this |
| 1:57.1 | thing on the big screen. So stay tuned for more on that as we get a little bit closer. |
| 2:07.1 | Next up, there is a Choose Your Own Adventure movie in the works. And this has been actually in the works for a long time. I remember writing articles about this years ago. And evidently, |
| 2:12.3 | the project has found directors and a writer as well. Radio Silence, Matt Betttenelli-Ollopin and Tyler Gillett, |
