Hello, everyone. Welcome to Slash Film Weekly. It's Wednesday, June 3, 2026. On today's episode of the show, we're going to be talking about the latest film and TV news. And then we'll talk about a bunch of stuff, backrooms, spider noir, the breadwinner, and Deli Boys season two. And we'll share several interviews with some of the folks behind some of those projects. My name is Ben Pearson. I'm an editor at slashfilm.com. And I was actually

0:22.9

out of town this past weekend out at a wedding. So I didn't get a chance to see some of the

0:29.1

projects that we're going to be talking about on today's episode. Apologies in advance for that.

0:33.3

In terms of the news, there's not a ton that I thought was worth catching up on.

0:38.0

There are a couple things that I'll drop some links to in the show notes.

0:42.0

Most notably, it's probably Zach Snyder being attached to write and direct a remake of Escape from New York.

0:49.9

There's been talks about remaking this movie for a long, long, long time.

0:57.0

So many directors and actors have cycled through the idea of being a part of this project

1:02.8

over the years and it's never happened.

1:04.7

So we'll see if Zach Snyder, of all people, is the person to finally get this thing

1:09.1

across the finish line.

1:10.6

It sounds like a terrible idea.

1:12.3

The original movie is fantastic.

1:14.1

I cannot fathom Zach Snyder, a guy who just seems to be like pure surface level and

1:20.1

who just loves things that look awesome and he loves saying the word, awesome.

1:25.4

That's probably his favorite word if you listen to interviews with him.

1:28.7

Just him being a match for this particular project just doesn't really seem right to me.

1:35.5

But who knows? I know he's got a lot of fans out there and maybe they'll feel differently.

1:40.1

Maybe you're one of them. Who knows? Also, just wanted to mention real quick that Sidney

1:44.1

is going to be starring in a new reimagining of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which sounds like it could potentially be an interesting project.

1:52.0

It's called Hollow.

1:53.3

It's going to be written and directed by Lindsay Anderson Beer, who is basing this on her debut novel that's coming out in 2027, and she is the person who directed
