biographical. It is rooted in the great narratives of Scripture, the lives of men and women of

faith in God. But I want to point out to you today that it doesn't begin with men. Faith never

begins with man. We are not the origin of the faith and we are not the object of the faith. The origin

of our faith is the faithful God and the object of our faith. The origin of our faith is the faithful God, and the object of our faith

must be the faithful God. In fact, I think sometimes we even concentrate on faith as an end in itself.

Dear listener, friend, faith brings you to God. It doesn't leave you where you are. It's not faith in

faith. It's faith in him. It's not the strength of your faith that makes the difference. It is the

object of your faith that makes the difference. In fact, the Lord Jesus talked about that when he said

that just faith as a grain of mustard seed would move mountains that's

that's just a little bit of faith oh but a little faith can still lay hold on a mighty big god

and that's why the main character of hebrews 11 is not able not enic not noah not abraham not sarah

not isaac or jac Isaac or Jacob or Joseph or Moses,

or any of the rest that we're going to study.

The main character of Hebrews 11 is God.

The concentration of our study and the concentration of Scripture and the concentration of our faith must be God.

Faith really is looking to the Lord. In fact, my pastor used to be fond of saying that Hebrews

chapter 11 is a description of faith, but Hebrews chapter 12 gives the best definition of faith.
