For nearly 20 years in the midweek prayer meeting of our church, I heard my pastor who is now

with the Lord, whose faith has now become sight. I heard my pastor who is now with the Lord whose faith has now become

sight. I heard him quote Hebrews chapter 11 and verse number six. And I've got to tell you that

at times it seemed to me just to be a repetition, just a repetition. But you know repetition's good

when it reminds us of truth. And now at this stage in my life and my walk with Christ, this verse is coming to mean more and more to me. I want to concentrate on this one verse with you today because I believe Hebrews chapter 11 and verse number six is really the key to Hebrews chapter 11.

In fact, it's the key that opens the door of faith.

It is the key that opens all of God's best to us and all of heaven's blessings to us.

And if you're looking at Hebrews chapter 11 and you say, well, we've concentrated on the first

three verses, but you skipped a couple of verses to get to verse six. You are right. And I promise,

if you'll stay with me, and this study will return to verse four and verse five to Abel and to

Enok. But I want to jump to verse number six because I really believe it encapsulates a great summary verse.

Everything we're studying about believing God.

And in fact, if you're going to take one verse from the chapter and say, I'm going to memorize

this verse, to meditate on this verse, to quote it to myself when I'm discouraged, to quote

it to others when they need help, to quote it to others when they need help,

to quote it to the devil when trouble comes, to quote it to the Lord in prayer.

This is the verse.
