Our God is a present tense God. His name is not I was or I will be. His name is I am. The psalmist tells us that our God is a very

present help in time of trouble and he promised he would never leave us and never forsake us,

which means wherever you are God is and wherever you are, you can trust him. In fact, only can you,

you must trust him. We're, only can you, you must trust him.

We're beginning a brand new series today through the great faith chapter of the Bible,

Hebrews chapter number 11.

And that amazing chapter that is filled with the lives of so many men and women of faith

begins with these two words.

Have you ever noticed the first two words

of Hebrews 11, now faith? Our faith must be now faith, present tense faith. You see, faith has to be

both personal and present. It has to be personal because no one can believe God for you, but it has to be

present because faith is not just some experience or event in your past, or not just something

you hope for the future, but rather it is believing God right where you are. My journey of faith

began as a five-year-old boy. I heard the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ,

and the Holy Spirit worked in my heart to help me realize that I needed Jesus. On that day,

I put my faith, childlike faith, in the person and work of Jesus. He forgave my sin. He gave me peace with God
