Lizzy Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 wax when she saw what she had done she gave her father 41 so of course we're talking about the legend of Lizzy Borden and the Borden axe murders.

That's a rhyme passed down across generations that originated from one of the most infamous murder cases in American history nearly 130 years ago.

Lizzy Borden stood trial for the brutal axe murders of her father Andrew Borden and her stepmother Abigail Borden.

Her shocking acquittal didn't change a lot of people's belief that she was guilty but her case hasn't intrigued all of us since its beginning.

Lizzy Andrew Borden was born on July 19th 1860 and fall River Massachusetts to Andrew Jackson Borden in Sarah Anthony Moores Borden.

Andrew and Sarah were married on Christmas Day in 1845 and they had three children together.

Emma Lenora born on March 1st 1851 Alice Esther on March 3rd 1856 and Lizzy in 1860.
