In November of 2000, a person named John Titor checked in on the Internet claiming to be an American military time traveler from the year 2036. He stayed on for nearly 4 months, answering questions and making sometimes vague, sometimes specific predictions about events that occurred between 2000 and 2036, including an American Civil War. a nuclear holocaust caused by war between the US and Russia., and major changes in our system of government. He also provided detailed explanations and sketches of how he was able to time travel. 0:29.0	One of the most fascinating unsolved mysteries to me is that of time travel.
0:35.0	Can someone really travel backward or forward through time? Has it been done before? And how would it be possible?
0:42.0	This question is fascinated scientists and laymen for centuries and been the subject of countless books and movies.
0:49.0	Theories abound and the level of interest seems to be growing all the time.
0:54.0	In November of 2000 a man calling himself John Teeter, actually Time Traveler Zero,
0:59.0	got the internet excited when he claimed to have come from the year 2036 to help save the world
1:04.0	and stated that he had recently stopped in Rochester, Minnesota to pick up the only existing computer
1:09.0	that could accomplish that, an IBM 5100.
1:13.0	He posted that on a little known internet discussion board called the Time Travel Institute Forum.
1:19.0	Greetings, he wrote. I am a Time Traveler from the year 2036.
1:24.0	I'm on my way home after getting an IBM 5100 computer system from the year 1975.
1:30.0	He had, he said, made a side trip to 2000 to pick up some family photos and check in on family in Tampa and Rochester.
1:38.0	That introduction posted to the kind of paranormal extraterrestrial conspiracy theory
1:43.0	message boards that were just finding a foothold on the internet 20 years ago
1:47.0	would set up a four month flurry of what and what ifs, as Teeter answered numerous questions,
1:52.0	told internet viewers about his life in 2036 and gave us glimpses into our own future.
1:58.0	If it was a hoax, and of course most people assume it was, it was an entertaining one,
2:03.0	a brilliant one, and one which is still being debated today.
