We have not been with you since a lot of the action of yesterday.

We watched many of the MPs in Parliament standing up and speaking.

Many of them very, very well and many of them with great passion about why we have let down the people of

Afghanistan, why Joe Biden should be blamed for doing so and leading the charge on that.

And we've also seen an awful lot of footage this morning of the Taliban, checking people's

identifications, trying to make it difficult for them to leave the airport at Kabul, and all manner

of stories now coming out about what's going on and what the

fallout of this ridiculous situation is going to be. Last night we heard that the outgoing

president of the Afghan government who fled the country as soon as the Taliban moved in over

the weekend has now turned up in United Arab Emirates, supposedly, uh, with a sack full of money.

No, not just a sack full of money, several sackfuls of money. And in fact, a plain load of money,

uh, which some say is worth as much as 170 million pounds. So we'll be checking that out as well.

We'll be talking about all of that much, much more besides. Let's kick things off straight away with Dr. Rakeba, San, independent expert in

British public attitudes, because he wrote a fascinating piece about why those people in this

country who think that the nation-building idea of parts abroad is a good thing should really take

some lessons from what's just happened and why they should never do it again. Rakeeb, a very good morning to you.

you've been glued to some of the coverage that's coming in from Afghanistan and some of the

terrible things that we're not seeing, but we sort of know are happening behind the scenes.
