Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on talk radio as the crowds gather at Kabul Airport in ever increasing frustration and numbers and desperation in ever bigger crowds.

It seems that the powers that be in the UK have now accepted that not everyone is going to get out.

Let's just listen to those words again.

These are words from government spokespeople.

Not everyone is going to get out.

Now what does that actually mean?

Does that mean that not everyone is going to get out alive?

Does that mean that quite a lot of people are going to be killed?

Does that mean the government has accepted that there are people who fought with us in that

region very loyally with great pride, we're just going to leave them to be

butchered by the Taliban. Really? In what can only be described as the biggest military blunder

in a decade, the fallout from the US decision to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan continues

to terrify and abandon those very people that helped us keep the peace for so long. It now turns out that the heads of the government departments most involved

in sorting out the current international emergency here in the UK,

that's the permanent secretaries at the Home Office, the Foreign Office and the Ministry of Defence

are all on holiday.

That, in addition to the revelation that Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab couldn't be bothered

making a phone call

because he was on holiday in Crete surely illustrates the problem at the heart of the Boris

Johnson administration. They simply don't think anything is as important as their own holidays.

Please don't tell me that that is a big deal. Please don't tell me that it doesn't matter.

Please don't tell me that people are entitled to take their holidays.
