Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on talk of radio.

The die is cast, ladies and gentlemen, and the scene is set for some very troublesome weeks and months ahead for Afghanistan and the world.

As more and more Britain's return to the UK from the war-torn and, frankly, chaotic capital city that is Kabul,

the ruling Taliban have been busy trying to convince

everyone that they've changed. That's right, they're the new kinder, gentler Taliban.

They say they've turned the corner, that they believe in women's rights, that they will certainly

not any longer summarily execute people that have, in their words, collaborated with the West

vis-à-vis the enemy.

The trouble is nobody actually believes them.

An alluming crisis of gargantuan dimensions can only be around the corner.

And it won't just affect the troubled region and its surrounding countries.

There are going to be hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing their homes and heading for Western Europe. And already we're hearing that a resistance movement is building up in the

outskirts to Kabul, being led by the former Vice President of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh.

So if you think it's all over, it certainly is not. This morning, Boris Johnson is addressing

a special emergency session of Parliament. We call to address the crisis and make no mistake.

This is a huge crisis. Britain and the

United States have betrayed a country, betrayed our veterans and caused the world a problem that it

really does not need. Senator Joe Biden, sorry, President Joe Biden, I should say, bears the brunt of

the blame for this blunder. But our Prime Minister must also step up to the plate and come up with a

plan of action,

mustn't he? He's asking a lot of questions himself. He's giving as good as he gets. He's in Parliament.
