We welcome you and to the services of the Lord and to hearing God's word that is life to us,

it is medicine to us, it is strength to us, it is direction to us, it is correction to us,

it is rebuke, it is encouragement and strength, and so we just bless God for the power of His word.

Our scriptural lesson today comes from Romans chapter 2,

verse 1 through 4. Notice hear the word of the Lord, the apostle Paul, right into the church at

Rome. You may think you can condemn such people, but you're just as bad. And you have no excuse. When you say they are wicked and should

be punished, you are condemning yourself. For you who judge others do these very same things. And we know that

God in his justice will punish anyone who does such things. And we know that God in his justice will punish anyone who does such things.

Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God's judgment

when you do the same things? Don't you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean

nothing to you? Can't you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? And I want to talk

today simply from the subject, the kindness revolution.

The kindness revolution.

Isn't it interesting?

Verse four of Romans chapter two in the King James Version says that the goodness of God

leads to repentance.

He says, don't you know that the goodness of God leads to repentance. He says, don't you know that the goodness of God,

God's kindness leads to repentance? Isn't that interesting? Now, you know, too often we have looked at God as though God is some kind of boogeyman, standing around secretly, waiting on us to mess up just

so he can say, I got you, and then punish us. But that is not the kind of God that we serve.

God is a good God. He's loving, he's kind, he's patient. And the Bible says that

he's really overwhelming us with his goodness so that we can lead people to repentance.

And our reality with God is not that God is just standing in secret waiting
