I've been praying that simple prayer every time that I approach the word of God.

I don't open my Bible without saying, God, open my eyes.

That I might behold wondrous things out of your Lord.

Open my eyes.

Every time that you read the Bible, ask God, because we are blind unless he opens our eyes.

Lord, open my eyes that I might behold wondrous things out of thy law.

And it never ceases to amaze me the wonder that's in the law of God.

Revelation is hidden in the scriptures in layers.

And just when you thought that you had uncovered one,

there's another layer of revelation under that.

And you will never, ever exhaust the revelation of God.

I want to talk to you just briefly from the book of Revelations chapter 3, verse 2 and 3.

Notice these are the words of Jesus to the church at Sardis.

He says, wake up and strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead.

And he said, I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God. Go back to what

you heard and believed it first. Hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don't wake up,

I will come to you suddenly as unexpected as a thief.

I want to talk for just a few moments from the thought, straight talk, straight talk, straight talk.

These are the words of Jesus, our blessed Redeemer, to the church at Sardis, a nice quaint church region that was lofty and desired.

And they got comfortable in this place.

And so he said to them that, though you are alive, he said you're dead.
