In our world, there is so much sorrow, misery, and sadness.

We see indicators all around us that reveal to us that most people are looking for something,

anything, that can bring them true joy. In this study on joy,

Scott Pauley will take us to God's Word and help us discover the source of true, lasting joy.

And as we study the Bible together, we will find that God's joy is readily available to us

through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you need a good dose of the Lord's joy today? Then you need a good dose of the Word of God.

Because God's joy and God's word are always connected.

I wish I had the time today to read Psalm 119 with you.

I would challenge you, it's the longest Psalm in the scripture, 176 verses long, so you'll

need a few minutes to do it, but I would challenge you to read Psalm 119 and mark all of the references, all of the

expressions of exuberant joy.

The psalmist records about the joy of being in Scripture and finding God's truth,

greater than all riches, greater than a good meal, greater than anything, because it is the joy

of hearing from Almighty God.

And friends, there is no joy on earth like it.

In our last study, we talked about the joy of sharing Christ with others,

literally using our words to pass on the good news.

But we back up a step today in this particular study to learn something about the joy

of the word of God in our own life because we must hear from the Lord if we're going to speak for the

Lord. I want to give you three scriptures today, one in the Old Testament, two in the new, but they really
