In our world, there is so much sorrow, misery, and sadness.

We see indicators all around us that reveal to us that most people are looking for something,

anything, that can bring them true joy. In this study on joy,

Scott Pauley will take us to God's Word and help us discover the source of true, lasting joy.

And as we study the Bible together, we will find that God's joy is readily available to us

through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many years ago, I heard a man say that there was no joy quite like family joy and no hurt

or pain quite like family pain. I think that's true. And part of the

reason for that is because it is the nearest and dearest relationship on earth. So the more you love,

the more capacity there is for blessing and also the more capacity there is for pain that's just

reality it is a part of human relationships today's principle on joy is very interesting because

it is something that i think has tremendous application of course to life, but it also has great implications for the

church family. We're talking today about the joy of faithful children. I think probably the

classic verse is third John, verse four, where John wrote, I have no greater joy than to hear that

my children walk in truth.

Let me testify as a dad for a moment.

The greatest joy I have is the joy of seeing my children choose Christ,

the joy of seeing the children follow truth and do right.

And if you have children, you know exactly what I'm

talking about. This principle is not new in the New Testament. In fact, it's found repeatedly

throughout Scripture. Let me give you a couple of examples in the Proverbs. In Proverbs chapter 17 and

verse number 21, we read these amazing words.
