0:00.0	In our world, there is so much sorrow, misery, and sadness.
0:12.6	We see indicators all around us that reveal to us that most people are looking for something,
0:18.2	anything, that can bring them true joy. In this study on joy,
0:23.5	Scott Pauley will take us to God's Word and help us discover the source of true, lasting joy.

1:06.9	And while I still believe that, I have come to a deepened conviction that really all of the joy is rooted in the first.
1:16.1	All of the joy is really found in Jesus.
1:20.5	It is experienced, certainly, as we serve one another.
1:24.9	We can have it in our own hearts, but it is centered on the person of Jesus Christ.
1:31.8	So for a few moments today, let me just talk to you about the joy of Jesus.
1:37.4	Someone says, oh, what a simple thought.
1:39.2	Yes, but what a profound thought because there's not any truth in Scripture, any deeper, any higher, any grander
1:45.5	than the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm not talking about the joy of his miracles or
1:53.4	even the joy that he preached. I'm talking about the joy of his person. Just him being present brought joy.
2:03.1	Let me give you a few scriptures.
2:04.6	The first is found in Isaiah 61.
2:07.0	You're going to recognize it because Jesus would later read it and quoted and say this
2:11.5	was about him.
