In our world, there is so much sorrow, misery, and sadness.

We see indicators all around us that reveal to us that most people are looking for something,

anything, that can bring them true joy. In this study on joy,

Scott Pauley will take us to God's Word and help us discover the source of true, lasting joy.

And as we study the Bible together, we will find that God's joy is readily available to us

through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

At every step on the journey of life, you have to find divine leading. You have to find

direction. I used to think that all of the big decisions I would make by a certain point in my life

and then it would be smooth sailing.

I'm learning that at every stage in life, there are crossroads.

There are junctures where you have to make decisions and choices.

And friends, we need God's guidance at every turn.

Today I'm bringing you to a scripture that the Lord used in a profound way in my life several years ago. When God led us out of the

work that we had been engaged in for so long in Christian education and in a local church

and ministry into evangelistic work.

And it was interesting because the time of the year that God led me to the scripture was not

Christmas. It was not around the season where we observed the birth of Christ, but the passage is.

It's Matthew chapter number two, and it is the very famous story of the wise men

coming from the east to Jerusalem to worship.

And God used this passage in my life to really guide me and confirm some things

and show me the next step.

So for that reason, it's always been very special to me.
