It's really a special place and I think it feeds your soul. I think if even if you don't hike the John Muir Trail or you don't, you know, live in a big mountain range,

just getting out nature. It's the best thing you can do for yourself in any format,

and especially as everybody's staying at home right now and doing being smart and

staying safe even if it's just for a little bit like go walk on a trail or

sitting next to a tree like just something get outside. Being out there is just you have everything you need with nothing that you really need and it makes everything feel so so much better and sweeter and more delicious and all these things you can learn on the

trail and you can bring back with you.

As some of you may know, I returned not too long ago from a beautiful but quite frankly at times

grueling two-week through hike of the 211 mile or 340 kilometer trail that is the JMT which is short for the John Muir Trail and it was awesome.

It was iconic it was everything I thought it would be it was just what my mind, body and soul needed after a rather tumultuous.

Past couple of months for me personally.

So, joining me today to chat all about it are Elon Leiber and Gabby Madier.

Elon is a long-time friend. We met while he was living down here in Southern California

through trail running and then he moved up north

to the East Bay where he currently resides

with Gabby and their lovely little Vichla, Penny Lane.

I think his girlfriend Gabby,

they actually met during the year

that I ran Leadville, which Elon did too
